The principal notification was published in the Gazette of India vide notification no. 61/94-Customs (N.T.), dated the 21st November, 1994 (S.O. number 828 (E), dated the 21st November,1994 and was last amended by notification No. 03/2009 Customs(N.T.) dated the 06th January,2009 (S.O. number 44(E),dated the 06th January,2009).

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule 3 of the Customs Tariff (Transitional Product Specific Safeguard Duty) Rules, 2002, and in supersession of notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No.106/2008-Customs (N.T) issued vide G.S.R.No.632 (E) dated the 2nd September, 2008, the Central Government hereby appoints Ms. Praveen Mahajan as the Director General (Specific Safeguard) for the purposes of the said Rules.

Whereas, in the matter of import of ceramic glazed tiles other than vitrified tiles where at least one of the sides (length or width) exceeds 17 inches/431.80 Millimeters (MM)/43.18 Centimeters (CM)/1.4167 feet (hereinafter referred to as the subject goods), falling under tariff item 6908 90 90 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), originating in or exported from China PR (hereinafter referred to as the subject country), the designated authority, in its preliminary findings vide notification No. 14/16/2008-DGAD, dated the 22nd April, 2009, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part I, Section 1, dated the 27th April, 2009 has come to the conclusion that.
The anti-dumping duty imposed under this notification shall be effective for a period of five years (unless revoked, superseded or amended earlier) from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette. The anti-dumping duty shall be paid in Indian currency.

In order to collect, compile and process the data on imports into the country under Regional Trade Agreements (RTA) and Preferential Trade Agreements (PTA), the format of the DTA is being revised to include the data, ‘customs notification number’. A copy of the revised format of DTR is enclosed as Annexure-I. It may be seen that the revised format of the DTR for imports, contain a new field in serial No.14 which need to be incorporated in the existing import DTR format.
