No Profession Tax on salaries less than 15,000/- (earlier applicable from Salary of Rs.5,000/- onwards). There are only two taxable slabs salaries between 15,001/- to 20,000/- PT Rs.150/- PM and salaries above Rs.20,000/- PT Rs.200/- PM.
On Goods and Service Tax (GST) front, there is a news to cheer about. The Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers which met for two days on 28-29 January, 2012 cleared the major hurdles in introduction of GST.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 31A of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 (Mah. IX of 2005), the Government of Maharashtra hereby, with effect from the 15 th February 2013.

There are two types of inter-State sales. An inter-State sale contemplated by clause (b) is one, which is effected by transfer of documents of title to the goods during their movement from one state to another. Where the property in the goods has passed before the movement has commenced, sale will evidently not fall with in clause (b).
In order to facilitate the filing of online DVAT/CST returns, in exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 49A of the DVAT Rules, 2005, the last date of online filing of return for monthly dealers, for the month of December, 2012 is hereby extended upto 01.02.2013. The last date of filing of hard copy of the return for the above return period is also extended upto 05.02.2013.
This is to inform all concerned that the e-Filing of VAT 15 for 3rd quarter of Financial Year 2012-13 is likely to start from 23rd January 2013. Sufficient time of 1 month would be provided to e-file VAT 15 for the above mentioned quarter.
With reference to above, the dealers who are required to file audit report u/s 61 of MVAT Act, 2002 for the financial year 2011-2012, besides filing the audit report, should also furnish following documents. i. A statement of submission of Audit Report in the format given in the circular 27 T of 2009
