It has been decided that in case of ‘Start Up’ companies which fall within the definition given in Notification of DIPP, Min. of Commerce & Industry, in G.S.R. 501(E) dated 23.05.2017, if additions have been made by the Assessing Officer under section 56(2)(viib) of the Act after modifying/rejecting the valuation so furnished under Rule 11UA(2), no coercive measure to recover the outstanding demand would be taken.

Startup India is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, intended to build a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation and Startups in the country. Under this initiative a Startup India Portal has been set up which shall serve as a platform for facilitation of Startup recognition, access to information related to incubators, mentors, Angel Funds, Venture Funds etc.
Application for obtaining certificate of start-up recognition can be filed I) during application process of Intellectual property rights (IPR) i.e. Patent, Trademark, Copyright, Design etc. or ii) after obtaining certificate of registration.
Now Private Companies (Start-up only) are not required to provide Cash Flow Statement along with financial statements. For the purposes of this Act, the term ‘start-up’ or “start-up company” means a private company incorporated under Companies Act
