Export of Onion in cut, sliced or broken in powder form

Note 1 of Chapter 7 of ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import Items (Chapter 7 deals with Edible Vegetables and Certain Roots and Tubers) stipulated that reference to onions in this chapter includes onions fresh or chilled, frozen, provisionally preserved or dried. This note has also been extracted in the Notification No. 13 of 22.12.2010. Therefore, the item description in the Notification No. 13 dated 22.12.2010 is clear leaving no room for ambiguity.

Order U/s.119(2)(b) regarding extension of time-limit for filing ITR-V forms for A.Y. 2010-11

In exercise of its powers under section 119(2)(b) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) hereby extends the time limit for filing ITR-V forms relating to income-tax returns for A.Y. 2010-11 filed electronically (without digital signature) on or after 1st April, 2010. These ITR-V forms can now be filed upto 31st July, 2011 or within a period of 120 days from the date of uploading of the electronic return data, whichever is later.

Allocation of cotton yarn export not being made today

Since the last date of export is 31st March, 2011, the allocation would be completed as expeditiously as possible, on receipt of the confirmatory e-mails (last date of receiving such e-mails is 14.2.2011). In view of the above, the allocation of cotton yarn for export as stipulated in Policy Circular No. 15 dated 1.2.2011 is not being made today.

Investment in non-Government Securities- Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) of maturity up to one year by standalone Primary Dealers (PDs)

IDMD. PCD.No. 26/14.03.05/2010-11 we advise that henceforth PDs are permitted to invest in NCDs with original or initial maturity up to one year issued by the corporates (including NBFCs). However, their investments in such unlisted NCDs should not exceed 10 per cent of the size of their non-G-Sec portfolio on an on-going basis.
