Import of Beef in any form and import of products containing beef in any form is prohibited; (b) All consignments of edible oils and processed food products, imported in bulk, shall carry a declaration from the concerned exporter on the shipping documents that the consignment does not contain beef in any form; (c) All consignments of edible products, imported in consumer packs, shall carry a declaration on the label of the package that the product does not contain beef in any form.

The pay revision of the officers and employees has been carried out by the Public Sectors Insurance companies in the year 2010-11 and Government by Gazette, Notification dated May 24, 2010 has revised upward maximum limit for Gratuity under “Payment of Gratuity Act 1972” from Rs. 3,50,000/- to Rs. 10,00,000. The above factors will lead to the increase in liability on account of gratuity which in turn will impact the insurers profitability significantly as they need to provide the same in the financial year 20010-11. Circular No.21 / 2011-Customs, The Central Board of Excise and Customs has made declaration of IEC branch code and AD code as non-mandatory in case low value dutiable import consignments (i.e. consignment other than documents, gifts and samples of an invoice value upto Rs. one lakh) under Courier Imports and Exports (Electronic Declaration and Processing) Regulations, 2010. The disclosure of IEC code will continue to be mandatory.
It has now been decided that in order to reduce the cost to exporters (i.e. interest cost on overdue export bills), exporters with overdue export bills may also extinguish their overdue post shipment rupee export credit from their rupee resources. However, the corresponding GR form will remain outstanding and the amount will be shown outstanding in XOS statement. Owning a vehicle would now pinch your pockets even more, with third-party motor insurance premiums set to rise by up to 65 per cent for two-wheelers, private cars and heavy load carriers from April 25. The premiums are being revised after a gap of four years, the sector watchdog Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) said, adding, from now onwards the third-party motor insurance premium rates would be revised annually.
A Service Desk has been set up with a national toll-free number 1800 425 4251 which can be accessed by taxpayer between 9AM to 5PM on all working days (Monday to Friday). Besides they can send e-mails (24×7) at e-mail ID (aces.servicedesk@icegate.gov.in). ACES Service Desk generates a unique number called the ticket number and ticket is closed only on resolution of the problem and confirmation by the complainant. If the user gives the required details, the issue is analyzed for resolving at Service desk itself (L-1) and if not possible, the issues are escalated to the L2/L3 team for resolution. Once the resolution is received the same is communicated to the persons concerned, via e-mail and on receipt of confirmation the calls are closed. Since the existing Nos. of telephones are not sufficient to handle pressure during peak filing periods as sometimes the phone lines may be busy, the taxpayers are hereby advised to send e-mails to Service desk.
Section 50(2) of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 provides for claiming the refund at the end of financial year and does not permit the dealer to carry forward the refund to the next financial year. Considering the difficulties faced by the trade, it was administratively decided to permit such adjustment for the year 2009-10 as per Trade Circular 1ST of 2010 dated 15.04.2010.
Circular No. 20 /2011-Customs – It is clarified that import of trim cutting waste or fabric trims of continuous length with maximum width restriction of ten inches (10”) falling under heading 6310, required for manufacture of Chindi rugs shall not be subjected to restrictions imposed by the present policy of ITC (HS) Code 6310 and shall be cleared without an import licence.
