NSE, BSE to hold 90 minute special trading session on Saturday

The country’s two prime bourses Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange will carry out a special 90-minute trading session on Saturday to help NSE test an upgrade its trading system.The special live trading session on February 6, in cash and futures segments, would open at 11 am and close at 12:30 pm, NSE and BSE said in separate circulars.

Accounting regulator the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today said it has found two auditors guilty of professional misconduct in the Global Trust Bank (GTB) scandal. A final notice would be soon sent to S Gopalakrishnan, facing trial in Satyam scam case, before pronouncing him guilty in the GTB scam, the ICAI said in a statement.

THE CBI has successfully busted an international gang involved in printing, possession, circulation and use of counterfeit MoneyGram money orders running into millions of dollars which were being used in the USA. The gang involves Nigerian nationals who had been forwarding consignments of such counterfeit MoneyGram (Money Orders) from India to the USA through various courier companies while concealing their identity and whereabouts.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) does not approve of penalties on foreclosure of loans and admits there is no uniformity among banks on such matters, but appears to have done little to address the problem. This is reflected in two separate sets of replies to a query under the Right to Information (RTI) Act on the issue of high rates of penalties charged on the prepayment of loans, in a practice followed by private, foreign and state-run banks alike.
