Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) is a system, initially introduced by the Income Tax Department. It is one of the modes/methods to collect tax, under which, certain percentage of amount is deducted by a recipient at the time of making payment to the supplier.
Any reduction in rate of tax on any supply of goods or services or the benefit of input tax credit should have been passed on to the recipient by way of commensurate reduction in prices. However it has been the experience of many countries that when GST was introduced there has been a marked increase in inflation and the prices of the commodities.

According to 24th GST Council Meet held on 16th December 2017: 1. E way bill rules will be rolled out on a trial basis from 16th Jan 2018, 2. The e-way bill rules will be implemented in India from 1st February 2018, 3. The states can opt to follow the e-way bill system anytime before 1st June 2018, 4. From 1st June 2018 e-way bill rules will uniformly apply to all states.

The last date for filing of return in FORM GSTR-1, for different classes of taxpayers for the relevant periods, as shown in the Table below, remains 10th January, 2018. There has been no further extension of date for filing return in FORM GSTR-1.
