The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), through Circular No. NPCI/2025-26/NACH/004 issued on June 17, 2025, has directed all NACH Member Banks to prioritize the integration of a Real-Time PAN and Bank Account Validation API. This API service, previously made available, is specifically for use by Government departments, including the Income Tax Department’s E-Filing Portal. The primary purpose of this integration is to enable government entities to verify customer account details, such as PAN validation, account status, and account holder name, directly from the banks’ Core Banking Systems (CBS). This mandate builds upon earlier NPCI circulars concerning API services for banks and government departments. Technical specifications and detailed integration guidelines for the NACH PAN & Account Verification API are to be provided to banks separately. Banks are advised to disseminate this information internally and address any clarifications through the CRM Tracker.
