It is observed that many a time, names of Directors of various firms/companies are similar. It is, therefore, necessary to ensure that Directors are correctly identified and in no case, names appearing to be similar to the names of Directors appearing in the list of defaulting borrowers are wrongfully denied credit facilities on such grounds. To avoid such situations, it has been decided that the Director Identification Number (DIN) may be included as one of the fields in the data format submitted by State and Central Co-operative Banks to credit information companies. Such provision of DIN will further ensure that the data relating to credit information is accurate and complete.

“On-line” submission of application-Clarification regarding use of manual mode for filing application on DGFT’s server

In such cases, the exporters shall use the manual Shipping Bill filing option on the DGFT’s server to file their application for Export Promotion Schemes (Chapter 3,4 and 5 for the FTP). Moreover, necessary documents in original including Shipping Bills will need to be submitted to jurisdictional Regional Authority of DGFT by the exporter. However, EDI Shipping Bills which are not transmitted properly will need to be EDI cleared and transmitted to DGFT’s Server for grant of benefits. EDI Shipping Bill will not be accepted through manual option mode.

It may be recalled that the BCBS had issued in December 2009 two consultative documents for public comments. It also undertook a comprehensive quantitative impact study (QIS) and top-down calibration of minimum capital requirement. At its July and September 2010 meetings, the GHOS broadly agreed on the overall design of the capital and liquidity reform package, based on the comments received, the QIS and top-down calibration. The fully calibrated Basel III rules will be published by the BCBS by end-December 2010.

While considerable progress has been achieved in the matter, banks have been requesting to permit them to test the new system in a live scenario by providing a parallel run for a reasonable period, so as to ensure that customers are not put to inconvenience.
