Central Government may allow Aadhaar authentication by requesting entities in the interest of good governance, preventing leakage of public funds, promoting ease of living of residents and enabling better access to services for them, for the following purposes, namely:–
resident who is an Aadhaar number holder may, upon attaining the age of eighteen years, make an application for cancellation of his/her Aadhaar number to a Regional Office of Authority in the format prescribed in Schedule VI, so as to reach that Regional Office within a period of six months from the date of attaining the age of eighteen years.
