The India Tax Department has expanded the list of banks available for tax payments through its e-Pay Tax service on the e-Filing Portal. As of June 27, 2025, a total of 31 banks are now integrated into the system, facilitating online tax transactions. This list includes both banks that have migrated from previous payment systems and those newly enabled on the portal. Notable banks such as Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, and State Bank of India are among the migrated institutions, having been enabled between September 2022 and April 2023. Additionally, new banks like Bandhan Bank, City Union Bank, DCB Bank, Federal Bank, IndusInd Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank have been progressively added since July 2022, with recent additions including Dhanlaxmi Bank (June 26, 2024), IDFC First Bank (November 27, 2024), Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited (March 5, 2025), and Yes Bank Ltd (June 27, 2025). This expansion aims to provide taxpayers with more options and convenience for fulfilling their tax obligations digitally.
