it has also been decided to do away with the submission of copies of contract notes to SEBI. As and when required, SEBI shall requisition the custodians to provide the copies of the contract notes.
Notification No. 1/2009 – Income Tax The Finance Act, 2008, w.e.f. from 1 April 2008, introduced a new concept of Electronic Meal Cards (‘EMC’), for the purpose of Fringe Benefit Tax (‘FBT’) on hospitality expenses. Hospitality expenses do not include any expenditure incurred by an employer on provision of EMCs1, which fulfils the prescribed conditions. Accordingly, FBT will not be payable on expenditure incurred on such EMCs. Hospitality expenses are valued at 20% of the expense incurred for the purpose of FBT (except in case of certain industries).

In pursuance of the provisions of paragraph 2.4 of FTP, the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) hereby notifies the compilation known as HBP v1, HBP v2 and Schedule of DEPB rates. These compilations, as amended from time to time, shall remain in force ‘until further amendments’ except DEPB Scheme which shall continue to be operative till 31st December, 2009.
Amendments made in DEPB Rates vide Public Notice No. 102 dated 05.11.2008 in respect of products where DEPB rates were reduced, hereby stand withdrawn w.e.f. 5.11.2008 itself, thereby restoring the DEPB Rates notified prior to 5.11.2008, for the said items.
The notification number 89/2005-Customs, dated the 4th October, 2005 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 624 (E), dated the 4th October, 2005 and was last amended vide notification number 125/2008-Customs dated the 21st November, 2008 vide number G.S.R. 816 (E), dated the 21st November, 2008.
The principal notification was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. 118(E), dated the 1st March, 2002 and was last amended by notification no. 128/2008-Customs, dated the 7th December, 2008, which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary vide number G.S.R. 842(E), dated the 7th December, 2008.
This notification shall be effective for a period of five years (unless revoked, superseded or amended earlier) and the anti-dumping duty shall be paid in Indian Currency.
