It is the responsibility of every employers of establishments covered under the Employees Provident Fund Act to ensure updation of KYC details by the employees covered under the Employees Provident Fund Act.
Every employee covered under the Employees Provident Fund Act has to update their personal KYC details from their respective Provident Fund Accounts i.e the UAN Member Account.
To avail the Transfer claim or Advance Withdrawal Claim or Permanent Withdrawal Claim facilities, updating KYC is a mandatory requirement.
Once the KYC details are submitted by the employees, the employer has to verify and approve the KYC details using the Digital Signature registered on the Employees Provident Fund Establishment Portal.
Following are the steps to submit & update employees KYC details in Employees Provident Fund Account:
1. Login to establishment unifiedportal-emp.epfindia.gov.in
2. Select “Approvals” under Member tab on the left side of the page
3. Select the option “DSC KYC” on the right side of the page
4. Attach Digital Signature to the system
5. Select option DSC token and proceed
6. Select the name of the DSC holder appearing in the pop up box and sign
7. Approve all the requests following the above steps.
8. Again Select Members Tab – KYC pending for DS
9. If the records appear – Follow above steps 2-8 and approve the pending requests
10. Again select Members Tab – KYC Seeded by Members
11. If the records appear – Follow above steps 2-8 and approve the pending requests

Check the status of your Bank KYC. If it is still pending for verification then wait and if it showing pending at employer then you need to visit your EPF office to resolve this query.

Please meet the section head / AAO officer / Asst PF Commissioner if the account clerk does not co-operate. The rejection remarks are entered by accounts officer hence they should guide you on what needs to be done.

What if it’s been 8-9 yrs that I left my job and now trying to update bank details in KYC so obviously ’employer’ part will not be of any help as I am not working for long but after updating it says – “seeded by member” and “verification under process”. Who will approve this? tried with bank but they have no clue how or where to approve?
“verification under process” means bank IFSC will get auto verified by EPFO portal. Some bank’s IFSC gets auto verified and for remaining banks the verification option goes to employer. In your case wait for 4-5 days. If the bank kyc does not get updated within 4-5 days then cancel it and do the KYC again.

The KYC entries in employer portal should be checked in “Approve KYC seeded by member”, “Approvals” and “Approve KYC pending for DS”. Check all 3 options and still the entry is missing then delete the entry and submit the KYC again.

co has been registered on jan 2022 but pf have to be paid for april 2021 that too of an employee who was on contract basis so how we pay that ?
If Company got eligible for EPF with effect from January 2022 then how it is liable to pay dues for April 2021 ?
If registration in EPF is with effect from January 2022 then you cannot pay EPF dues of April 2021.

You have following options to update the bank kyc
1. Establish contact with previous employer to update the KYC. It is not a big task to the employer to approve the KYC. Hardly 5 mins it will take
2. Raise a grievance with EPFO office
3. Open a bank account with SBI or link existing SBI account if you have through OTP. It will get auto approve in 24-48 hrs without employer’s signature. (This is not trail and tested by me personally but have seen cases in past where the SBI account KYC gets auto approve)

Do all the KYC again. Now you can update your KYC from member portal through One time password facility. Hence no need to approach the employer to approve the KYC requests.
How to updated the name change corrections in using DSC key in EPFO, through employer login.
First the member has to submit request from UAN login and then employer has to approve it from employer login.

The member portal does not give the option to download the document. Try from UMANG app. You can file a grievance or visit the EPFO department. You can explain the urgency of matter and meet the person in EDP department.

1. Why may have the new employer rejected the aadhar KYC?
2. Will it cause any impact afterwards?
3. Shall I ask for the reason from the employer or from EPFO helpline?

The rejections are of two types, one portal rejects it and second employer rejects it. If the portal shows rejected by employer then you can ask the reason to your employer. If you are using the same UAN and Aadhar is linked with the UAN in your previous company then portal will not reject it.

Yes it is, without Aadhar KYC you cannot withdraw funds.

If you have changed the Aadhar card details or biometrics after the approval of employer then Yes you need to update the Aadhar KYC again on EPFO portal.

Raise a grievance with EPFO or if visitors are allowed in EPFO office then visit and meet the concern person to address this issue.
after marking exit date in PF is Dsc approval neccessary
DSC approval is not required to update the date of exit.
A simple click on approval button is required if employer updates the date of exit and If member updates the date of exit then employer approval is not required at all.
Entire system is a joke. As an employer you have to upload the request letter and then you keep waiting. you can never know when they will approve it.
I uploaded my dSc on 16th June. No response. I filled a grivance and they disposed off it with a reply to send the dsc through email. I can’t re open the ticket, can’t file ticket again under the same subject So, even after sending email there was still no progress .then Created a new grivance under a new had and the concerned officer said their portal is under upgradations and my grivance was disposed off. even after 3 more days they have not approved my dsc. and most importantly they send me a notice for default in epf.
This is how they they work. you beg them you bow down to them if they pleads they will work else even God can’t make them work

You cannot reject the KYC once approved. Update the KYC fresh, it will overlap the previous one.
