In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Schedule 2, Appendix 6 of the book titled ” ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import items 1997-2002.
Attention is invited to the Public Notice No.26/97-2002 dated 14th July,1997, wherein the conditions and procedures to be followed in respect of export of sandalwood in the form of heartwood chips, mixed chips,flakes of the Sandalwood Classes mentioned in Annexure I to the said Public Notice, Sapwood chips/powder and Sandalwood dust obtained as waste after the manufacturing process have been specified.
Public Notice No. 19 (RE-99) amends EXIM code for cardamoms, deleting one entry and updating the description, effective July 2, 1999.
In case the World Bank loan fails to come through, for any reason, the deemed export benefits would be available as if the supplies have been effected under Paragraph 10.2 of the EXIM Policy. However, in this case the Power Grid Corporation would return the cash equivalent of the deemed export benefits availed by the suppliers for the above stated projects.

In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 4.11 of the Export & Import Policy 1997-2002, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Schedule 2 , Table B of the Book titled ITC(HS) classifications of Export and Import Items 1997-2002.
The export license shall be issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade only when the firm produces a certificate of physical verification of stock from the Regional Deputy Director Wild Life in case of Delhi/Bombay/Calcutta /Madras or from the Divisional/District Forest Officer or Deputy Conservator of Forests of the concerned territorial division. Before issue of export license, the exporter shall also be required to furnish certificate(s) of Origin/Legal Procurement Certificate(s) in the format prescribed at Annexure I issued by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests in original to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade for endorsement.
Attention is invited to Ministry of Commerce (Import Trade Control) Public Notice No. 74-ITC(PN)/85-88 dated the 21st February, 1986 on the subject mentioned above. It is hereby informed that in pursuance of the relevant provisions contained in the Indo-USSR deferred payments protocol dated the 30th April, 1981 and 23rd December, 1985.
Public Notice No. 13 (1999) extends deemed export benefits for goods supplied to specified mega power projects as per Exim Policy and Revenue Notification 63/99.
