The following steps have been taken by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation to recover the outstanding amount: 1. Attachment and sale of movable and immovable properties of the defaulting establishments. 2. Appointment of receiver to run the business of the defaulting establishments. 3. Arrest and detention of defaulter. 4. Prosecution of defaulters before courts of law.
The following enhancements have been released. These enhancements do not impact the instance documents which have already been filed on the MCA21 portal. This version of the tool needs to be downloaded by only those stakeholders who are facing the below mentioned issues. In case the instance document has been successfully validated and pre-scrutinised from the existing version of the tool (Ver 1.1), the same shall be allowed to be filed on the MCA portal.
The States of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Orissa, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Tripura have already taken necessary legislative measures providing for compulsory registration of marriages. The Central Government today released the sixth report pertaining to the quarter July-September 2011on Public Debt Management. Since September 2010, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance is bringing out a quarterly report on debt management.
As you know, I am here primarily to sign the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) as was agreed during the visit of Prime Minister of Nepal to India on October 20-23, 2011. I am happy that we have revised the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement today. The revised DTAA will provide tax stability to the residents of India and Nepal and facilitate mutual economic cooperation as well as stimulate the flow of investment, technology and services between India and Nepal. In the revised DTAA the threshold withholding tax rates on dividends, interest, etc., are rationalised to reflect the present day situation and developments in the area of international taxation.
Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) arrested Superintendent of Service Tax Department, Thane, Anil Singh for allegedly accepting a bribe from a private firm. The CBI laid a trap at his office chamber in Thane and arrested Singh red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20000 for not imposing service tax penalty of Rs. 2 lakh on the firm. Singh was arrested on Thursday and remanded in CBIs custody till December 8.
