Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed all Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs), including RRBs, UCBs, StCBs, DCCBs, Payment Banks, and Small Finance Banks, to begin submitting their Internet Banking and Mobile Banking returns through the newly launched Centralised Information Management System (CIMS). The directive, issued under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, specifies that the reporting for these two returns will commence with data from the reporting period of August 2025. The deadline for submission is the 7th of the succeeding month, with the first return for August 2025 due by September 7, 2025. The RBI has already created administrative user accounts for each reporting entity in CIMS, and it is the responsibility of these entities to create login credentials for the users who will be submitting the returns. The RBI has also noted that non-compliance with this instruction will result in penal action.
