1. SEBI vide circular SEBI/HO/MRD/CP/CIR/P/2016/38 dated March 9, 2016 laid down the detailed framework for introduction of cross-currency futures and option contracts in the EUR- USD, GBP- USD and USD- JPY currency pairs and introduction of currency option contracts in EUR- INR, GBP- INR and JPY- INR currency pairs. The said framework interalia specified product design, risk management & dynamic price bands etc for cross currency options and currency options.
In continuation of guidelines on debt securities contained in Chapter V Issue of Debt Securities of SEBI (IFSC) Guidelines, 2015 and based on the representations received from stock exchanges and market participants in IFSC, it has been decided that for issuing debt securities in IFSC, stock exchanges shall evolve a detailed framework prescribing
In order to further streamline the operations at IFSC, based on the internal discussions and consultations held with the stakeholders, it has been decided to amend provisions of the aforesaid guidelines as follows
CAPITAL MARKET regulator SEBI has been devising and enforcing various measures, from time to time, to protect the interest of investors and the sanctity of the capital market by making listed companies more accountable through enhanced disclosures.
It has been SEBI’s continuous endeavor to improve ease of doing business by adopting technological solutions in its interface with market participants. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) vide its notification dated July 25th, 2017 has come up with SEBI (Depositories and Participants) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2017 (hereinafter referred to as “DP Second Amendment Regulations, 2017) substituting sub-regulation (3) of regulation 58 of the SEBI (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as DP Regulations, 1996).

All applicants desirous of seeking registration as REITs or InvITs are now required to submit their applications online only, through SEBI Intermediary Portal at https://siportal.sebi.gov.in. Furthermore, all SEBI registered REITs and InvITs are now required to file/ submit/ apply for any request, as may be required under the provision of aforesaid Regulations & Circulars issued there under, through the online system only. The aforesaid online filing system has been made operational.
Derivatives market in India has been growing rapidly in recent years. Orderly growth, development and alignment of both cash and derivatives markets is important. Keeping this objective in mind, the discussion paper has been prepared to undertake an assessment of the derivatives market in India so as to evaluate whether there is a need to further strengthen the regulatory framework for derivatives in India.
SEBI, vide its Circular No. CIR/CDMRD/DIECE/02/2015 dated November 16, 2015, mandated Investor Grievance Redressal System and Arbitration Mechanism to National Commodity Derivatives Exchanges (herein after referred to as Exchanges) and directed exchanges to comply with the provisions of circulars as issued by SEBI in this regard, with effect from April 01, 2016.
