Plywood and Allied Products Dealers Association of India Vs. UOI & Ors (Kerala High Court)
The Petitioner is an association of plywood and allied product dealers and the 2nd petitioner is a member of that association, they have filing Public Interest Litgation praying for a general Order of extension of the “due dates” for filing the Tax Audit Report(TAR) and the Income Tax Return (ITR) for the assessment year 2018-2019, In view of large scale of devastation and the natural calamity, in August 2018 in the Kerala State. It is submitted by Sri. Deepu Thankan as the learned counsel for the petitioners that such relief was granted in the face of natural calamity in the State of Uttarakhand, where the time was extended by three months, for filing the Returns.
2. In view of above, Sri. KMV. Pandalai, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) prays for time to receive instructions. Smt.C. G. Preetha, the learned Central Government Counsel appears for the 1st respondent. Sri. Aravindakumar Babu, the learned Senior Government Pleader appears for the 3rd respondent.
3. Post accordingly on 17.10.2018.
