Today CBDT has finally released after 55 days of start of Assessment Year 2018-19 Java Utility of ITR-6 applicable to  Companies other than companies claiming exemption under section 11.

It is worthy to note that CBDT is failed to release excel utility of ITR-6 and released only Java utility of ITR-6.   Further in respect of ITR-3, ITR-5 and ITR-7 also CBDT has not yet released excel utility. Till date CBDT has released excel Utility for ITR -1, ITR-2 and ITR-4 and JAVA utility for ITR-1  to ITR-7.

Earlier CBDT has released

Excel and Java Utility of ITR 1 on 14th April 2018,

CBDT has earlier notified ITR Forms vide Notification No. 16/2018-Income Tax dated 3rd April 2018.

Due to consistent delay in release of ITR Utility by CBDT Taxpayer around the Country has started demanding Linking of ITR Due Date with ITR Utility Release date. Read-Link ITR Filing Due date with ITR E-filing Utility Release Date.

Now we have to see if CBDT extends due date of filing Income Tax Return in view of Punjab and Haryana High Court Judgment in the case of Vishal Garg Vs UOI in which High Court has instructed CBDT to ensure that the forms etc. which are to be prescribed for the audit report and for e-filing the returns should ordinarily be made available on the first day of April of the assessment year.

Utilities for ITR1 & ITR2 released have irritating defects. So far noted that the mandatory column in tds sheet of both utilities, wherein the financial year in which tds deducted , choice is only up to 2016. There is no mention of previous financial year i.e 2017. Is this a joke?
