S.O. – In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, the Central Government hereby amends Clause 3(1)(i)(h) of Foreign Trade (Exemption from application of Rules in certain cases) order, 1993 as under:

Consumer electronic items (except hearing aids and life-saving equipments, apparatus and appliances and parts thereof): Provided that the c.i.f. value of goods imported as aforesaid at any one time shall not exceed rupees two thousand | Consumer electronic items (except hearing aids and life-saving equipments, apparatus and appliances and parts thereof): Provided that the c.i.f. value of goods imported as aforesaid at any one time shall not exceed rupees fifty thousand |
Effect of the notification: C.I.F. value of import of consumer electronic items at any one time by any person through post or otherwise for personal use is enhanced to ₹ 50,000.
