In exercise of the powers conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following additions in the handbook of Procedures, Vol-2, 2002-2007 as amended.
In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 2002-2007 published on 31st March, 2002 as amended from time to time, namely- at the end of Chapter-87 of the said ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import items, 2002-2007, the following clause in the import licensing note shall be inserted.
In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 2002-2007 published on 31st March, 2002 as amended from time to time, namely- at the end of Chapter-85 of the said ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import items, 2002-2007, the following import licensing note shall be inserted as follows.
However in the case of loss of DEPB not involving either the Customs or the Licencing Authorities, the duplicate DEPB issued would have a validity equivalent to the balance period of validity of the original DEPB on the date of application for the duplicate DEPB.
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-07 and paragraph 1.1 of the Handbook (Vol.1), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following corrections/amendments/additions in the “Schedule of DEPB Rates” as under.
In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2002-2007, as amended, amendments/ corrections/ deletions at appropriate places as mentioned in Annexure “A” to this Public Notice shall be made.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Para 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007(incorporating amendments made upto 31st March,2002), the Director General of Foreign Trade has decided to release a quantity of 6.00 (Six) Lakhs M.T. of onions (all varieties other than Bangalore Rose onion and Krishnapuram onions) for export upto 31st March, 2003.
Attention is invited to licensing note no. 2 at the end of Chapter 12 of ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007. Import of the crude drugs listed at the aforementioned licensing note is free. The heading of the table, stating that import is subject to actual user condition, is an editing error. Thus, the same may be ignored.
