DGFT issued Notification No. 20/2024-25-DGFT on 5th July 2024. According to the notification, the import policy condition for potatoes (ITC HS code 07019000) has been revised. Previously, import of potatoes from Bhutan was permitted freely without any license up to 30th June 2024. However, with the latest amendment, this exemption is extended up to 30th June 2027. Hence, import of potatoes from Bhutan under this category can now be done without the requirement of an import license till June 2027.

Subject: Amendment in import policy condition for items under ITC (HS) code 07019000 of Chapter 07 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule – I (Import Policy)
S.O. 2644(E).— In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends the policy condition of item under Chapter 07 of ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule – I (Import Policy):
