In exercise of the powers conferred under Pargraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31.03.2001) the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import items (incorporating amendments made upto 31st August,1998) and as amended from time to time.
All import consignments carrying a preshipment inspection certificate from a textile testing laboratory accredited to the National Accredition Agency of the country of origin, certifying that the import consignment does not contain any of the hazardous dyes as per aforementioned paragraph 11 shall be allowed to be cleared.
However, the licences issued under the scheme upto 31.03.2000 shall be governed by provisions laid down in paragraph 6.11 as given in Handbook (Vol 1) (RE-99). Notwithstanding the provisions in Handbook (Vol 1) (RE-99), the licence holder will not have to surrender SIL in cases of valuewise shortfall .
Public Notice No. 10 (RE-2002)/1997-2002 updates Standard Input Output Norms for various sectors including chemicals, textiles, and sports goods.
Government extends the export deadline for coarse grains to 31st May 2001 under Public Notice No. 9 (RE-2001) for specified quantities.
Attention is invited to the entry at Code No. 1701 of Table ‘ B’ of Schedule 2 and Sr. No. 25 of Schedule 2 Appendix-1 of the book titled “ ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997-2002” ( incorporating amendments made upto 31.8.1998 ) and as amended from time to time specifying the terms and conditions for export items indicated therein.
Attention is invited to the entry at Code No. 1001(a) in Table B of Schedule 2 and Sr. No. 12(i) of Appendix –1 to Schedule 2 in the book titled ” ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997-2002 ” (incorporating amendments made upto 31st August, 1998) and as amended from time to time specifying the terms and conditions for export of items indicated therein.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, ( incorporating amendments made upto 31.3.2000 ) and as amended from time to time, the Director General of Foreign Trade has decided to allocate a quantity of 10,000MTs ( Ten thousand MTs ) of Sugar out of free sale portion of 2000-2001 season’s production for export to Maldives under Articles VIII & IX of the Trade Agreement between Government of Republic of India and the Government of Republic of Maldives for the year 2001.
