It is hereby notified that by virtue of powers vested in the Authority under Section 14 (2) (i) of IRDA Act, 1999, the IRDAI hereby extends the validity of premium rates set out in the aforementioned Order beyond 31st March, 2020, until further notice.

IRDAI had issued the Corporate Governance Guidelines for Insurance Companies in India in the year 2016. The participation of the Authority in peer review process of IAIS on ICPs more particularly on ICP 5 – Suitability of Person, ICP 7 – Corporate Governance and ICP 8 – Risk Management and Internal Controls indicated that there is need to further strengthen the Guidelines.
Where as part of product design insurers propose proportionate deductions of the associated medical expenses when a policyholder chooses a higher room category than the category that is eligible as per terms and conditions of the policy, insurers shall define ‘associate medical expenses’ in the terms and conditions of policy contract.
