The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, revised its guideline on Priority Sector Lending (PSL) on 20.07.2012. The details of important changes in the activities included in the revised Priority Sector Lending guidelines are as under: • Overall target under priority sector is retained at 40 per cent. The targets for both direct and indirect agricultural lending are kept unchanged at 13.5 per cent and 4.5 per cent of Adjusted Net Bank Credit, respectively.
Despite government efforts to institute reforms in the Bureau of Customs, the 3 o’clock habit or practice of collecting and distributing bribe money to corrupt among the bureau’s personnel remained unabated, Senator Panfilo Lacson said on Thursday. Lacson told a weekly forum at the Senate that the distribution of “tara” or bribe to Customs employees was still being held at 3 o’clock every Friday afternoon when employees gathered in the Customs zone.

Tomorrow to Mark 50 Years of Achievements under the Customs Act 1962 The Union Minister of Communication & Information Technology Shri Kapil Sibal will release tomorrow a commemorative Postage Stamp on Indian Customs to commemorate 50 years of achievements under the Customs Act, 1962. Shri S.S. Palanimanickam, Minister of State for Finance (Revenue and Disinvestment) will be the Guest of Honour and release a Coffee Table Book on Indian Customs on this occasion.
The Ministry of Railways has further streamlined the delivery of tickets under Tatkal Scheme and the new amendment in the scheme will come into effect from tomorrow i.e. 10th July 2012 (Tuesday). Under the new amendment the booking of Tatkal tickets will start at 10.00 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 0800 hours at present.
