Grant of recognition to BSE Administration and Supervision Limited (BASL) as
an Accreditation Agency
Amendments to SEBI (Alternative Investment Funds) Regulations, 2012 [Last amended on August 13, 2021], SEBI (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 2020 [Last amended on August 03, 2021] and SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013 [Last amended on August 03, 2021] were notified on August 03, 2021 to introduce framework for “Accredited Investors” in the Indian Securities Market. Pursuant to SEBI Circular dated August 26, 2021 on modalities for implementation of the framework for Accredited Investors, applications have been received from entities for recognition as Accreditation Agency, which shall issue Accreditation certificate to the investors seeking accreditation.
Post examination of their application, BSE Administration and Supervision Limited (BASL), a wholly owned subsidiary of BSE Limited (BSE) has been granted recognition as an Accreditation Agency under Regulation 2(1) (aa) of SEBI (Alternative Investments Funds) Regulations, 2012 read with SEBI circular dated August 26, 2021, for a period of three years with effect from December 01, 2021. The renewal of the recognition would be subject to satisfactory performance by BASL.
The procedure for accreditation of an investor and verification of accreditation status of an investor by investment providers (viz Alternative Investment Funds, Portfolio Managers and, Investment Advisers) and other modalities along with relevant circulars shall be displayed on the website of BASL and BSE.
