The Chairman
Central Board of Direct Taxes New Delhi

Re Request to extend the date of filing of Tax Audit Report and income Tax Returns in audit cases for Asstt Year 2019-20

Sir,

Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association is a premier body of tax consultants comprising Chartered Accountants and Advocates of state of Rajasthan and was established in 1976. Association has more than 2000 members and actively involved in spreading the knowledge not only amongst the members but also amongst the Trade and Industry. Association is also publishing a renowned and popular journal Tax World since more than 30 years.

Sir we strongly believe that extension of return filing dates is not a judicious solution of a problem.

But when things are beyond control of tax professionals, the fraternity finds solution in making such request only.

Sir it is truth that the compliance work of filing ITR and finalising tax audits are being done by Chartered Accountants and tax Consultants only. It is also true that the tax professionals are busy in making compliances of indirect tax and direct taxes day and night We also ensure that the work quality does not suffer and due taxes are paid to the exchequer. It is the time when the honourable board should think to reschedule the last dates of filing of Income Tax Returns and Audit reports. At the same time the timing of filing of IV th quarter TDB returns should also be rescheduled.

Sir the last date to file the fourth quarter TOS return is 31st May and the same reflects in form 26 AS by 15th June . Therefore for all practical purposes filing of returns can be started wef 16th June onwards only.

This year apart from income tax return filing, Chartered Accountants were busy in GST audit and annual return for the year 2017-18. Dates of non audit returns were also extended to 31st August. Therefore for all practical purposes the time available for filing of audit returns is only one month.

Sir utilities for filing income tax returns have been amended this year and some of the information’s requires much more time and efforts,

It is therefore requested that this year the dates of filing of audit report and related ITRs may kindly be extended to 15th November. Tax professionals shall be highly obliged.

Thanking You

Sincerely Yours

For Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association

CA Satish Gupta
President
