PUBLIC NOTICE NO.50 (RE-00)/1997-2002

NEW DELHI, the 1st January, 2001

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II-Section 3 – Sub- section (ii) vide S.O.No.283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol.1). (RE-00), 1997-2002.

1. The words and expression “EOU/EPZ” wherever appearing in Paragraph 8.74 shall be substituted with the words an expression “ EOU/EPZ/SEZ”

2. The following shall be amended/added in the Appendix-28A:-

(A) Product Group: Engineering (Product Code: 61)

(i) The value caps for DEPB entitlement as given in column (4) of the above Appendix, shall be amended for the following items as indicated against their respective entry numbers:-

2. 373 Rs 33000/-. Per MT
3. 374 Rs. 21000/- Per MT
4. 385 Rs. 21000/- Per MT
5. 428 Rs 14000/-. Per MT

7. 469 Rs 35000/-. Per MT
  1. ii) The following shall be added after S.No. 600
S.No. Export Product DEPB Rate Value Cap
601 Truck & Trailer Wheels 18% Rs.41/-per Kg.
602 Carbon Steel/Alloy Steel Forged Flanges 18% Rs.35/-per Kg.
603 Electrode holder mainly made of copper 10%

iii) The DEPB rate and the value cap as given in column (3 & 4) of the above Appendix shall be amended for the following items as indicated against their respective entry numbers:-

(B) Product Group : Textiles (Product Code No: 89)

(i) The entry at S. No: 74 shall be amended to read as under:-

  1. The following shall be added at S. No: 27of Appendix-32 B under the heading “List of IS/ISO 9000 (series) Certification Agencies”:-

QMS CERTIFICATION SERVICES (INDIA),

GF-10, Devika Chambers, RDC,

Rajnagar, Ghaziabad.

  1. Paragraph 10.15 (iv) stands amended to read as under

“Where no All Industry Rate of Drawback is available or the same is less than 4/5th of duties actually paid on the materials or components used in the production or manufacture of the said goods, the exporter/ supplier may apply to the DGFT (Hqr.) for fixation of brand rate in the form given in Appendix 17. In such cases , for each claim filed with concerned licensing authority, a corresponding application for fixation of brand shall be filed with DGFT (Hqr.) indicating the RLA file/ correspondence no., if any to facilitate cross referencing.

The time limit, frequency, etc. for filing applications for fixation of brand rate of duty drawback shall be the same as for filing the claims indicated in sub paras (ii) & (iii) above. The provision of late cut as given in paragraph 15.16 shall also be applicable under this sub-paragraph.”

This issues in public interest.
