The Income Tax Department seeks suggestions on e-filing of I-T returns for the AY 2009-10 to make the e-filing website, software and functionalities more user-friendly and robust. Apart from general suggestions, specific suggestions on website look and feel, functionalities and facilities, white papers and technical papers are also welcome. Technical suggestions on XML schema, digital signatures, security, web services are also solicited. Suggestions and documents (in word format preferably) may be sent to efilingsuggestions@gmail.com .
In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5, read alongwith Section 3(2) of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, also read alongwith paragraph 2.1 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Central Government hereby extends the validity of prohibition on import of milk and milk products under Chapter 4 of ITC(HS) from China vide Notification No.46/(RE 2008)/2004-2009 dated 24th September, 2008 by another six months from 24.12.2008 upto 23.6.2009.

Apart from converging with the international financial reporting standards (IFRS) by April 1, 2011, it is now planning to convergence with the international auditing standards.
