This is to bring to the attention of students that the Revised Schedule VI to the Companies Act, 1956 issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on 28th February, 2011 pertaining to the preparation of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Account under the Companies Act, 1956 for the financial year commencing on or after 1.4.2011 shall not be applicable for the PCC, IPCC and Final examinations to be held in May 2012.
Whether a student of Professional competence Course can apply for conversion to Integrated Professional Competence Course? Ans. Yes. A student of PCC can apply for conversion to IPCC in the prescribed form [can be downloaded from http://220.227.161.86/14650IPCC_Converson_Form.pdf] alongwith prescribed fee [both groups Rs. 6000/- and group I Rs. 5000/-]. Students can obtain the prospectus of IPCC for Rs. 100/- from any nearest Branch office of the Institute.

Paper 8: Indirect Tax Laws (Final Course), Paper 5: Taxation (PCC) and Paper 4: Taxation (IPCC) – Point of Taxation (POT) Rules, 2011 have been notified vide Notification No. 18/2011 ST dated 01.03.2011. These rules have become effective from 01.04.2011 and further amendments have been made in these rules vide Notification No. 25/2011 ST dated 31.03.2011 and Notification No. 28/2011 ST dated 01.04.2011.
The next Professional Competence Course (PCC), Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and Final Examinations of the Institute will be held from 1st November, 2011 to 17th November, 2011 at the following centres . The last dates for receipt of application forms are 30th August, 2011 (without late fee) and 6th September, 2011 (with late fee of Rs. 500/-). Applications for admission to Professional Competence Course (PCC) Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and Final Examinations are required to be made either online at http://icaiexam.icai.org or in the prescribed forms which are priced at Rs. 500/- per form for PCC, IPCC & Final candidates.
In order to streamline the period of validity of registration for Common Proficiency Course (CPC), Professional Competence Course (PCC)/ Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and Final levels of Chartered Accountancy Course, the Council at its 303rd Meeting held on February 10-12, 2011decided as under: CPT students: Initial registration for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) is valid for 3 years.
“ A candidate who is otherwise eligible to appear in the Final Examination shall not be required to be in service of articles/audit training on the first day of the month in which the final examination is held. However, such relaxation shall be confined only to first of such permissible examination (i.e., the Final Examination in which a student shall become eligible to appear in the Final Examination for the first time only but not thereafter), irrespective of whether he is from the stream of Professional Education Examination – II(PEE-II) or Professional Competence Examination(PCE) or Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) under the provisions of Regulation 29 C of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988.”
