TRACES is a web-based application of the Income Tax Department that provides an interface to all stakeholders associated with TDS administration. It enables viewing of challan status, downloading of NSDL Conso File, Justification Report and Form 16 / 16A as well as viewing of annual tax credit statements (Form 26AS).
The portal is intended for use by the following types of users:
- Deductors / Collectors
- Tax Payers
Deductors / Collectors and Tax Payers will have to register on TRACES to create their account and view functionalities enabled for each user. Deductors / collectors will be able to view the status of challans. TRACES also enables deductors / collectors to view TDS / TCS credit and verify PAN of Tax Payers linked to the deductor / collector.
Tax Payers will be able to view the annual tax credit for their PAN for the TDS / TCS amount deducted by deductors (Form 26AS). Tax Payers can also view if deductor has filed statement for a particular FY and Quarter and whether their PAN is included in the statement filed by deductor.
Users will be able to login to TRACES after successful registration.
The portal aims to improve the overall service levels for deductors and tax payers by providing an interface with a range of online services accessible by users anytime, anywhere.

I THINK INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT HAVE TO CLOSE TDSCPC.GOV.IN WEB SITE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE AND START TIN-NSDL.COM AS IT IS….REVISED RETURN FROM 31-OCT-2012 IS STILL PENDING HOW CAN WE FACE PUBLIC REGARDING THIS MATTER.

What was this site ? after entering all the correct details for registering my customer account as a tan deductor it was showing invalid details i had make a call to customer care for 3-4 times the response also not valid and no response for the mail at all.

Can you submit your blog feedback to ITD authorities. When TDS matters were running smoothly with NSDL then why ITD has launched same. However the ITD concept was smooth reconsilation and rectification of TDS errors but TDSCPC vender can’t fullfill their dream because no body can give services like NSDL. ITD must stop this site without any delay because not a single options are running smoothly.
On the migration from TIN to traces i give all the information but the email id which i entered was wrong. So i couldn’t activate the TRACES account.After 24 Hours i again try with my TIN user id and password. But it showing “Invalid details”. Kindly help me on this regard.
While going for fo0rm16a downloading for particular TAN no. message is proping up that download request cnnot be submitted as statement has not been processed for selected financial year ,quarter and form type as it is 18 days filing quarterly return for 31.12.12.

I would like to share my experience about TDSCPC-TRACES PDF Converter Utility Verson 1.1. I had download & install the same and had all-ready issued so many Form 16A, but it has so-many problem still to resolve.
1) It will not be able to run on win 7 pc
2) It didn’t have the Digital Signature addition facility in ver 1.1 yet
3) It didn’t have a capable customer care support to understand the problem
They should have to correct these parameter immediately. Because when this will mandatory for us, we need a faster, correct & the latest utility to go with.

Dear All Please use Download Manager to download Form 16A PDF Utility. i downloaded the Utility within 2 Hours.
TDS CPC site is not proper. we are fail to generate & issue TDS certificate before due date. Please update site at the earliest.
I too agree with the users views TRACES is really worst and 3rd class site. the customer care and toll number both are waste. nobody is responding. the pdf convertion utility is not downloading fully. how we can generate form_16A how the ITD people are unnecessarily shifted the facility from NSDL to TRACES.
the TRACES (tdscpc.gov.in) PDF Convertion utility 1.1 is not downloading at the Traces Site. the downlaod stops by downloading 7.KB only the toal size of file is 61 MB.

Consolidated FVU file downloaded from TRACES showing same Original PRN number and Previous PRN Number, however both are different.
tdscps.gov.in is an unbearable & worst site. Pl. don’t torture us by introducing such site !. Replace with earlier (tin.nsdl.com) site on urgent basis pl.
TDS CPC is really a third class website. We can not understand how Income Tax Dept. could launch such website without any proper infrastructure. TDS revised returns are under process since three months before cpc tds. What they people are doing?. NSDL was processing and accepting TDS revised returns within two days. However there is no any time frame of CPC TDS.
On the other side Local Income Tax Offices are forcing to bring duly corrected 26AS. How we can produce corrected 26AS, when TDS revised returns are not processed at all.
My request to all members is to please be united in this matter, and we should file writ petition for such harressment given by TDS CPC before Hon’ble Supreme Court.
Income Tax department should also commence their services with NSDL immediately.
Really unprofessional approach of the team. Downloading TDS Certificate is not avaialble eighter in NSDL or in TRACES as well.
Please continue the operations in NSDL until the problems get solved in TRACES.
We could not understand why this transformation is initiated. There seems no benefit under tds.cpc. I had become quiet cumbersome rather than NSDL. Even all correct datas are provided it still says “Invalid Data”. It is better to retain NSDL website. This site is not user friendly. It just increases our work time and our mental stress.

Downloading PDF Convert Utility is very slow showing 2-3 hours then increase the time 5-7 hours what is this? Just closed the site and re-install original TIN site which is useful for taxypayer/deductor and govt alos

Now a days the registered TAN holders and TDS returns filling tax-payers are receiving phone calls on their Mobiles-phone nos- given in their returns,”saying that,we are calling from In-Tax TDS department, you have not filed TDS-return for 1st Quarter FY-12-13 due on 15th july…and penalty per day Rs.200/- is leviable.. and so.. on…” In fact in most of the cases where TDS is made in earlier FY in last quarter was due to TDS on INT. which is normally in last quarter every year, so they are not liable to file TDS return at all in 1-2-3 quarters.So such practice of calling the tax payer is not acceptable,it is an attack on his/her privacy, and at the same time mental torture for nothing. At the most it as a courtesy you may remind by SMS or e-mail, but Phone call is not solicited and illegal, bad-in-law, and should be stopped immediately.Same is the case for Advance-Tax, concerned ITO are writing letters Tax-payers asking them to pay tax and over and above asking them for sending copy of duly paid chalan to him, there is no such provision in In-Tax law of submitting chalan to ITO immediately after payment, now a days they can see the credit of their ward on-line, why this additional duty to a honest tax payer for which there is no provision in law.Pl. see that such practices are stopped and in future some decorum and dignity should be maintained in actions of enthusiasm of department, to win the tax-payers trust in working of Income tax department.
This new site is not helpful to get the TAN Registration Number which is required to extract the consolidated file downloaded. On registration it does not provide us the 12 digit registration number to extract the consolidated fvu and form 16A downloaded from traces. Please help us out to solve the issue
