In exercise of the powers conferred by item (h) of sub-clause (iv) of clause (15) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government hereby specifies tax-free (2009-E Series) non-convertible, unsecured and redeemable bonds of rupees seventy-five crores each carrying an interest of 8.70% per annum payable yearly for a period of ten years for an amount of rupees thirty crores and fifty lakhs only bearing distinctive numbers from 00000001 to 00003050 and forty-four crores and fifty lakhs bearing distinctive number from 00003051 to 00007500 issued by the Power Corporation Limited during the financial year 1999-2000 for the purpose of the said item :
Provided that the benefit under the said item shall be admissible only if the holder of such bonds registers his or her name and the holding with the said Corporation.
