Respected Sir,

Present membership of our Bar Association is more than 1700 comprising of Advocates, CA’s and Tax Practitioners. The Sales Tax Bar Association is the only Bar Association which-

xvii) is successfully running Benevolent Fund Scheme since 1975 under which financial assistance is provided to the family of a deceased member;

xviii) is committed to and rendering Social Service.

We, on behalf of Sales Tax Bar Association express our deep sense of gratitude for your kind support and guidance on several previous occasions and also express our appreciation for your efforts in ease of doing business. We would, here like to draw your kind attention, that Returns & Audit reports under the Income Tax Act are due for filing by 31st October 2019.

The business community on the whole have remained very busy during the entire month of October 2019 starting from Dusshera, on 8th October, to Diwali on 28th October

The business community on the whole have remained very busy during the entire month of October 2019 starting from Dusshera, on 8th October, to Diwali on 28th October 2019, followed by Bhaiya dooj. Immediately thereafter the working staff goes to their home towns to be with their families on this auspicious occasion.

Under these circumstances, it has not been possible for them to furnish requisite accounting details and statements to their counsels, being members of our association, enabling them to complete the audit & file their returns. In addition to these returns, TDS returns under Income Tax Act & GSTR 1 returns under Goods and Services Tax Act are also due for filing on the 31st October 2019.

All these returns, falling due on the same date i.e. 31st October 2019. Inspite of best efforts, the business community & their counsels, cannot possibly file these returns by 31st October 2019. It is causing great difficulty to all of them.

Under these circumstances, it is humbly requested that the due date for filing of the returns as aforementioned may kindly be extended by a fortnight i.e. by 15th November 2019.

Hope to receive your immediate attention and magnanimous consideration.

With Kind regards

Yours sincerely,

[Suresh Agrawal]

    Dear Sir/Madam
    Pls stop this culture of extending due dates. Even at the start of year ever one knows about various pooja and other holidays. So, let them plan their schedule suitably. ROC is not extending due date for filing Annual Reports & Returns. And no is asking for that. If big companies can complete their account, conduct AGM well ahead of 30th Sep and file returns/reports well before end Oct, why not small firms & proprietaries.
    Extension should be allowed only if there is any problem in the IT Web site or IT software.

    In spite of our all and best efforts, it is not possible to finalise the accounts, since it is to be verified with other returns. Also the office staff and assisstants also unable to cope with the updated demands. Before signing the reports Auditors also find difficulties, to go through all compliance s along with various other duties. So please kindly enough to give some more time.
