This article is very important for the taxpayers who are facing issues in their GSTR 2B for the month of  April 2022.

Though few of the taxpayers also faced some issues while filing GSTR 1 for the month of April 2022 but somehow the portal handled is really well and managed all the queries and issues.

But the technical glitches continued for GSTR 2B as well for the same month.

It is noticed by the RTP’S that ITC of April 2022 is not reflecting in GSTR 2B for April 2022 despite filing of GSTR1 within due date by supplier.

It is to be noted that w.e.f 1st January 2022 ITC can only be availed by the RTP if the same is being reflected in GSTR 2B only and not on the basis of GSTR 2A.

Hence this issue if not reflecting the ITC in April GSTR 2B has left the RTP’s worried that they might not claim the ITC due to the technical glitch by the portal.

The GSTN confirmed that this issue is due to the technical glitches in the portal and hence issued an advisory for the RTP’s that if certain records are missing & not reflected in GSTR-2B for Apr’22 then the taxpayers can claim the ITC as per GSTR-2A instead of GSTR-2B, this is an interim relief provided by GSTN to the RTP’s.

Though GSTN has issued an advisory regarding this issue but I strongly recommend the RTP’s that before taking the ITC please raise a ticket at the portal and keep it for the records as we must keep in mind that it is just an advisory and is not backed by any notification till yet.

The official advisory can be accessed at GSTN clarification on Incomplete GSTR-2B for April 2022
