The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through Public Notice No. 29 (RE-01)/1997-2002 dated July 13, 2001, has announced amendments to the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) Rate List under Appendix 28A of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002. The updates pertain to engineering (Product Code 61) and textile (Product Code 89) product groups. Key changes include revised DEPB rates and value caps for various products, including inlet exhaust valves, stainless steel articles, carbon and alloy steel flanges, disc horns, and handlebar switches. Additions have also been made for specific items such as earth-moving wheels, rear axle housing assemblies, and stainless steel casseroles. The textile group saw corrections in DEPB rates for fabrics and made-ups involving manmade yarns, including metallized yarn and embroidery. These amendments aim to refine the export incentive framework under the DEPB scheme. Issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, this notice is effective immediately and is deemed in the public interest.

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II Section 3, Sub section (ii) vide S.O. No.283(E) dated 31.03.1997, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol 1).(RE-01), 1997-2002.
