The Ministry of Finance, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, has issued Notification No. 43/2025-Customs (N.T.) on June 13, 2025, to amend the existing customs tariff values. This notification, effective from June 14, 2025, revises the tariff values for various imported goods under sub-section (2) of section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. The changes involve substituting new Tables (TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3) in Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated August 3, 2001. TABLE-1 updates the tariff values for edible oils such as Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil, Other Palm Oil, Crude Palmolein, RBD Palmolein, Other Palmolein, and Crude Soybean Oil, alongside Brass Scrap. These values are specified in US Dollars per Metric Tonne. TABLE-2 introduces revised tariff values for Gold and Silver, covering various forms, including those availing specific customs exemptions, and details exceptions for certain items like foreign currency coins or jewelry. These values are presented per 10 grams for gold and per kilogram for silver. Lastly, TABLE-3 sets the new tariff value for Areca nuts in US Dollars per Metric Ton. This amendment reflects the government’s adjustments to valuation for customs duty assessments on these commodities.
