The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, through Notification No. 60/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated 30th September 2025, has revised tariff values under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. The notification substitutes the existing Tables 1, 2, and 3 of Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated 3rd August 2001. The updated tariff values, effective from 1st October 2025, apply to key imports such as edible oils, metals, and areca nuts. Under Table 1, crude palm oil is valued at USD 1108 per metric tonne, RBD palm oil at USD 1132, crude palmolein at USD 1141, RBD palmolein at USD 1144, crude soybean oil at USD 1181, and brass scrap at USD 5690 per metric tonne. Table 2 specifies tariff values for precious metals: gold at USD 1231 per 10 grams and silver at USD 1515 per kilogram, with clarifications regarding exclusions for certain forms of silver and gold findings. Table 3 maintains the tariff value of areca nuts at USD 7463 per metric tonne without change. This amendment replaces the earlier values notified through Notification No. 56/2025-Customs (N.T.), dated 15th September 2025, and aligns import valuation for customs duty purposes with prevailing international prices.
