D.O.F.No. V.500/226/2017 Date: 31st May, 2017
My dear Colleague,
Subject: Disposal of Departmental Inquiries pending beyond 6 months -reg.
I would like to bring to your notice that as many as 296 cases of disciplinary proceedings are pending in the Zones across India where the Inquiry Officers have not submitted the Inquiry Reports.
2. You are aware that Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is closely monitoring the pendencies and necessary instructions have been issued from time to time for expeditious disposal. You are also aware that in view of ensuing implementation of GST from 1st July, 2017, the field formations have also been reorganized and the location of Charged Officer/ Inquiry Officers/ Disciplinary Authority of such officers may be changed in the process.
3. Therefore, you may immediately review the present status of inquiries pending over 6 months with Inquiry Officers under your charge and ensure the same are finalized within one month positively and the Inquiry Reports are submitted immediately thereafter to the concerned Competent Authority. This would reduce the burden of carrying forward the legacy issues. The Inquiry Officers who have not completed the inquiry proceedings should be assigned the task of Inquiry exclusively and should be directed to complete the inquiries with DAILY HEARINGS on priority. They should be relieved to join their new place, ,only on submission of the Inquiry Reports due from them.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
(S. Ramesh)
