Summary: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has invited applications under the Merit-cum-Means Assistance (Company Secretaryship Course) Scheme, 1983, as amended up to 10 July 2026, for financial assistance to eligible students pursuing the Executive Programme and Professional Programme of the Company Secretaryship course. Applications in the prescribed form must reach ICSI on or before 25 November 2026. For Executive Programme assistance, a candidate should have passed the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET)/Foundation Programme examination without claiming exemption in any paper, at one sitting and in the first attempt in CSEET, June 2026. For Professional Programme assistance, the candidate should have passed both Groups of the Executive Programme examination without claiming exemption in any paper, at one sitting and in the first attempt in the CS June 2026 examination. The annual income ceiling is Rs.2,40,000 where the applicant is employed or has an independent source of income, while the combined gross annual income ceiling is Rs.3,60,000 where the applicant is wholly or partly dependent on parents, guardian or spouse. The prescribed application form and the Scheme can be downloaded from the ICSI website through Examination → Merit-cum-Means Assistance → Application Form. Applications not submitted in the prescribed form, applications without supporting documents, incomplete or ineligible applications, and applications received after the deadline are liable to be summarily rejected.

MERIT-CUM-MEANS ASSISTANCE SCHEME, 1983
In pursuance of para 13 of the “Merit-cum-Means Assistance (Company Secretaryship Course) Scheme, 1983“, as amended upto 10th July, 2026, applications are invited to reach the Institute in the prescribed form on or before 25th November, 2026 for award of financial assistance for pursuing Executive Programme and Professional Programme of the “Company Secretaryship” from students who fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down under the said scheme.
According to the scheme, a candidate applying for assistance for pursuing Executive Programme should have passed Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) / Foundation Programme examination without claiming exemption in any paper, at one sitting, in the first attempt in CSEET, June, 2026.
Similarly, a candidate applying for assistance for pursuing Professional Programme should have passed Both Groups of the Executive Programme examination without claiming exemption in any paper, at one sitting, in the first attempt in CS June, 2026 examination.
The total income of such an applicant, if employed or is having an independent source of income, should not be more than Rs.2,40,000/- per annum and if he/she is dependent on his/her parents/guardian/spouse whether partially or wholly, the combined gross income from all sources should not be more than Rs.3,60,000/- per annum.

Applications not made on the prescribed forms and/or without supporting documents, incomplete applications, applications not fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down under the scheme or applications not reaching the Institute on or before 25th November, 2026 are liable to be summarily rejected.
