Though Company Secretary is all together a complete course offered by The ICSI which can make us land in a good job, but what about in the long run. To quickly go up the ladder or to be an edge over others additional degree can always be advantageous.

Therefore, in this Article I am going to make all professionals aware of the other courses offered by the ICSI.

Here is the list of Courses that ICSI offers which an interested one might take up for a better future:

CERTIFIED CSR PROFESSIONALS

Opportunities and Job role in CSR domain

Assisting the CSR committee of the Corporate and PSUs for developing CSR policies. • Preparation of CSR Projects and its implementation. • Assisting in CSR Audit and Standards. • Assisting in CSR funding, governance and compliance. • Practicing as independent consultant in CSR. • Employment opportunities in Corporate, NGOs, Societies, Trusts & Section 8 Companies.

Eligibility

Graduation in any stream from a recognized University/Institute, Members of ICSI/ICAI/ICMAI/LLB/LLM/MBA etc.

Duration of the course 3 Months

Certification

The candidates after completion of certification course and qualifying in the assessment shall be granted a certificate and will be registered as ‘Certified CSR Professionals’.

Course Structure

Module I: The Concept of CSR in Indian Context.

Module II: Implementation, Governance & Monitoring of CSR activities.

Module III: Compliance and CSR Audit.

CERTIFICATE COURSE IN GOODS & SERVICES TAX

With a view to equip Company Secretaries with the skills and develop competency in the area of GST, ICSI and BSE Institute Limited (BIL) a wholly owned subsidiary of BSE Limited (formerly known as Bombay Stock Exchange), have joined hands to offer a Certificate course in GST for its Members and Professional Programme students. The course gives a comprehensive insight about principles of GST as well as other nuances of the new indirect tax regime. It encourages the candidate to gain an understanding about the relevance of GST inclusively as well as of the preparations and challenges that lie ahead.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 The Members and Professional Programme students of the Institute shall be eligible for the admission to the course.

DURATION OF THE COURSE

The duration of the course will be 5 weeks (online web-based classes to be held on Saturday and Sunday) comprising of:

Web Based Classes 60Hours To Give sufficient Practical Knowledge

Online Examination after Completion of 5 weeks web-based classes.

 ATTENDANCE

Attendance of atleast 60% is necessary in web-based classes in order to appear in the online-examination. The online live session shall be recorded and the recording shall be made available to the participants in 5 working days post the session is conducted. However, the same will not be considered for marking attendance.

COMPLIANCE, GOVERNANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT IN INSURANCE

Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Insurance Institute of India (III) have joined hands to create an academic course to create expertise in regulatory compliance in the Insurance industry.

Objective

The objective of the Course is to create a cadre of Associate / Fellows of III & ICSI professionals in the Insurance industry to be well versed in risk management, governance and regulatory compliances.

Eligibility

  • Associate/ Fellow Members of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
  • Associate/ Fellow Members of Insurance Institute of India.

Course Structure

Part 1 (Online Exam of 3 Papers)

1. Fundamentals of Insurance

2. Insurance Regulations, Governance and Compliance

iii. Risk Management in Insurance

Part 2 (Training)

Three days of class room training

Examination

Examination will be conducted twice a year (Multiple choice questions)

Candidates who pass the examination and complete the classroom training will be awarded a Certificate jointly by III & ICSI.

The course will be administered by Insurance Institute of India.

CERTIFIED BANKING COMPLIANCE PROFESSIONAL COURSE

Objective

The Course Primarily seeks to cover the following viz importance of compliance function in banks, compliance and organizational benefits, structure and issues in compliance function, various aspects/coverage of compliance in banks, roles and functions in bank.

Eligibility

The examination is open to members of ICSI and\or CAIIB working in Banks.

Course Structure

The Certification course comprise of two stages namely:

  • MCQ based Examination
  • Classroom learning

Examination

Examination will be conducted twice a year in June and December on Sundays.

Candidates who pass the examination and complete the classroom training will be awarded a Certificate jointly by IIBF & ICSI.
