Attention of all TIN-Facilitation Centers (TIN-FCs) is hereby invited to the procedure prescribed for accepting PAN applications. As you are aware, PAN applicants (individuals) are required to provide names (first name, middle name & last name) in expanded form in PAN applications submitted. Also, the supporting documents submitted as proof of identity and address should contain the applicant’s name in expanded form and as mentioned in the PAN application.

An assessee may have been allotted multiple PAN Card. The multiple PAN card may have been allotted to the Assessee for many reasons i.e. He may have applied multiple times for allotment of PAN and every time he has been allotted a PAN card or may have inadvertently allowed multiple PAN card by Income tax Department , NSDL or UTI. Assessee who have more than one PAN should immediately Apply for surrender of additional PAN number(s) allotted to them as having more than one PAN may make them liable to a penalty of Rs. 10,000/-

Government has mandated reporting in statement of financial transaction commonly known as AIR Return of Cash deposits during the period 09th November, 2016 to 30th December, 2016 aggregates to ̶ (i) twelve lakh fifty thousand rupees or more, in one or more current account of a person; or (ii) two lakh fifty thousand rupees or more, in one or more accounts (other than a current account)
Persons to whom PAN under new series has already been allotted shall not apply for such number again. No person who has already been allotted a PAN under the new series shall apply, obtain or possess another PAN.
