In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby amends and notifies the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002.
All the above categories shall be entitled to import only one vehicle except categories (e) and (f), which shall be entitled to import maximum of three vehicles. Persons in category (d) shall be entitled to import only specially designed vehicles suitable for use by handicapped. All such imports shall carry a “NO SALE” condition of two years which shall be endorsed by the Customs authorities on the passport/ registration documents at the time of import and by the Regional Transport Authorities when such vehicles are presented for registration in India.
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part II – Section 3 – Sub-section (ii) vide S.O.
