NOTIFICATION NO. 42 (RE-99) 1997-2000

NEW DELHI: 24th , December, 99

In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.99) , the Central Government hereby makes following amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002: (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.99).

All Export House, Trading House, Star Trading House and Super Star Trading House, affected by the super cyclone in Orissa, who have been granted recognition during or prior to AM99-2000 and have become eligible for renewal of status during AM2000-AM2001, shall be granted recognition status automatically irrespective of their export performance during 1999-2000 as prescribed under paragraph 12.5 of the Policy.

Similarly, units affected by the super cyclone, while applying for recognition in 2000-2001, shall be required to achieve the average export performance on the basis of either on FOB value or NFE value of exports made during 1998-99 or on the average FOB value of exports or NFE value of exports made during 1997-98 and 1998-99.

This issues in public interest.
