Re: Dividend Distribution Procedure for Mutual Funds.
As you are aware, SEBI vide circular no SEBI/IMD/CIR No. 1/64057/06 dated April 04, 2006, has issued the guidelines on captioned subject.
It is clarified that the said guidelines on dividend distribution procedure are applicable to all mutual fund schemes/plans which intend to declare the dividend irrespective of their dates of launch. All other provisions of the aforesaid circular remain unchanged.
This circular is issued in exercise of powers conferred under Section 11 (1) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, read with the provisions of regulation 77 of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996, to protect the interests of investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate the securities market.
