New Income Tax portal was launched on 07th June 2021, now we are required to register Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) in new portal even though it was registered earlier.
Pre- requirements for DSC registration :
1. Assessee must be having the registered user of the e-filing portal with valid username and password.
2. Downloaded and Installed the “emsigner utility” (eMBridge)
3. Valid DSC token of Class 2 or Class 3, which should be active and not expired.
Procedure of DSC registration :
Step -1 : Login to the E- filing website (www.incometax.gov.in) with username and password of Individual or authorized signatory.
Step-2 : Click on “My Profile” form the login Dashboard.
Step-3 : Now at the left side of the screen click on ” Register DSC” to register new DSC
Step-4 : Your PAN number will be displayed and select “I have downloaded and installed emsigner utility” (Which we have already downloaded if now download and install “eMBridge” using the link the displayed in screen). Click on Continue.
Step-5 : Insert the USB token in the USB port of your machine and run the “eMBridge”
Step-6 : Select the Provider in the Drop down (Provider details are displayed in the after successful running of the eMBridge application, Select the Certificate from the drop down (DSC holder name will be shown in the drop down)
Step-7 : Enter the Provider Password i.e. DSC token password and click on “Sign”
Hint : If the Error Pop’s up showing “You should change your Password” then change the e-Token password using the application that is available in the e-Token (like ePass2003). After that follow the above steps to register again.

The portal is not displaying the DSC for registering. I have installed and downloaded embridge as per the instructions given in the portal. In the “Data Sign” page, in the “Provider” tab, only microsoft windows store is showing. its been 15 days i am facing this issue. kindly help me sort out the issue as soon as possible as 31st dec is the due date.

DSC should be registered in Individual login and it is not required to register in the Company/ Firm/ Society login. In company login add that Individual in “Key Person Details” tab.

Once you click on the forgot password you’ll redirect to Forgot Password page, where you can enter PAN number and Select Reset Password by selecting “Upload Digital Signature Certificate” option, where you can select New DSC.

Sir I tried to register dsc in income tax portal for company, I got to dashboard -My Profile-Profile detail-Register Dsc
In that Provider * showing but certificate* not showing.

Sir, When I register DSC one error occur i.e. “Something went wrong. Error: More than one private key with id “7B” was found”
This error occur only when in one token more than one DSC are install.
Pls help to resolved it
The error is encountered when an extra private key and public key gets generated while
downloading the DSC. Please follow the below steps to rectify the error:
o Open the token drivers and check whether duplicate private key and public key is
generated.
o Remove/ delete the duplicate private key /public key.
o Restart the browser and try to select the certificate.
Note: Ensure that only the duplicate private/public key in the token is being deleted, if original private key
is deleted then you have to contact certificate provider to re-download the certificate.

sir, i cant register class 2 dsc in new income tax portal of partnership firm. kindly could you tell me what is the reason of this. I have listen it is not possible with class 2. I have to take class 3 dsc. Is it right or wrong? Please hemp me sir.
There is no provision to register dsc at the company’s login. Instead go to the individuals login portal and register the DSC there. It will work.
As per Latest IT rules, this dsc needs to be authenticated thru Authorized Signatory personal IT login. Can’t register directly thru Company login. Please check. There is no option in company login to register for DSC.
