Today is the last date for Return Filing for the Assessee Including Individual, HUF, partnership Firm Etc whose Accounts are not required to be audited under the Income Tax Act or any other law and also for a working partner of a firm whose accounts are not required to be audited under the Income Tax Act or any other law.
This Year Department has made E-Filing Compulsory For All the Individual and HUF whose Total Income Exceeds 5 Lakh. Last Year This Limit was Rs. 10 Lakh. This decrease in Limit resulted in more Rush on Income tax E-filing website which slowed down the e-filing website and people found it difficult to upload the ITR. Even as per department estimate in Peak hours E-Filing rate was 85000/- returns per hour.
Do Share your views by way of comments below the Post on the question that do you think CBDT extend the Due Date of Return Filing and if yes, why?
Yes CBDT has to extended due date of Return filing reason is the amount in Form 26AS and Form 16/16A is not match each other because of this we are not able to find assesses get refund or tax payment.
Definitely the deadline should be extended. Firstly the Department has made available the ITRs very late and after that they expect the assessees to follow deadlines. There should be deadline on the Departments to issue IT Returns as well and the deadline to file ITRs should be atleast 2-3 months after the Return Forms are published. Even after the unpardonable delay, the IT filing website is working erratically. Then how is it expected from the assessees to file ITRs?
Further in view of the heavy floods in many parts of India, it is expected to extend the deadline.
Surely it has to be / asuaul will be extended. Especially for this year valid reasons are:
1. Last week only people came to know that even for less then Rs. 5L they need to file the return
2. Due to some issues in Traces system, downloading of Form 16 – Part B / Form 16 and credit in Form 26AS are taking 2- 3 weeks time to
3. Last couple of days IT Return website is very slow.
So surely it will be extended
yes
yes, though i filed on time after making e payment of the self assessed tax apart from TDS, the same is not reflecting in the VAS 26 FORM and my return is filed as “tax payable”. wg=jen i tried to file revised return, the site is not available as of now. therefore i strongly feel that the date should be extended.
Yes, date should be extended because website of income tax deptt. is very slow & we are not able to upload the return.
It is request to extend the due date of filing of return because rush of e-filing return is very high. on top of that we the Darjeeling people facing the problems of strike called by GORKHA JANMUKTI MORCHA who is demanding separate state GORKHALAND. Beside the above two facts the speed of internet is so slow that it has become impossible to file one simple ITR 1 retun even in one hour. Government should have to look into the matter of INTERNET SERVICES provided by the authorities.
Becouse of last date some person cont file itr. If u extend the date some more peaple file itr…. Govt. Increase the tax revenue…. kindly extend the due date
yes CBDT should extend the due date of filing the returns
Since the number of assesses who are required to file Income
Tax Returns online from the present year must have more than doubled, authorities should consider extending the last date by ONE month.
Yes i think CBDT the due date of return filing reason is form 26AS and Form 16/16A is not match each other.
Yes CBDT should extended the date
We are not able to upload the returns due to problem with the Income tax website.
We need some more time ,so please extend the due date by another 2 or 3 days.
yes as you said the traffic for filling the return is huge and it is very dificult to file the return it is a request to CBDT TO EXTEND THE DATE
I feel, since incometax department, has given 4-good months, after 31/03/2013, extension of due date filing is not required. Also, in this age of information technology, time should not be one’s constraint.
YES IT MUST BE EXTENT UP TO 31 ST AUG 13
Yes cbdt should increase the number of servers and extend the date.
Date should definitely be extended as No filing was possible yesterday & even on Monday. Upto Saturday it was proper filling. It was taking more than 50 attempts to upload the data?
yes it should since this year there are a lot of changes in returns as compared to last year also the excel utilities had also been available very late .& the no. of assessees filing have also gone up .
Yes
CBDT should Extent the date of filling
For last two days I couldn’t log in to efiling site. I have 50 returns to upload. CBDT must extend the date.
CA Rajendra Karia
I do not think that the date should be extended, as people were given enough time, and even if decision is taken to do so, it should be done with a fine for late submission.
rgds
it should be extended, we are finding it very difficult to upload the return
yes date must be extended reason
1. late release of certain ITR
2. FROM LAST THREE DAY INCOME TAX WEB SITE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY
3. CBDT DECLARE TO FILE RETURNS OF SALARIED PERSON BELOW 5 LAKH
ON 23.07.2013 BEFORE IT WAS EXEMPTED AND HENCE THERE IS HEAVY LOAD
I think due date of e-filing of Income Tax Return should be extended by CBDT.
It is because of slow down of website speed and due to decrease in limit of total return number of e-filing of returns has been increased.
This limit can be max. 7 days.
Thanks
As per my views; as the Maharashtra VAT is keeping one day additional for ePayment the eFiling date should be extended for one more day, atleast.
Yes, If they increase atleast one week it will be good.
The due date needs to be extended by atleast 15 days as most of the returns are to be efiled and assessees have received form 16/16A only at the fag end of July 13.
Filing of Income tax returns by salary recipients should be exempted. This is because employers are filing tds returns and the same is furnished to the department electronically. Department has the income details of assessees and this additional filing only adds up paper work for assessee and heavy load on the department server which could be used for more fruitful purpose
no need to extend due date.
SITE WAS BEING OPEN IN GOOGLE CHROME AFTER 20-30 TRIES. DIGITAL SIGNATURES WAS SHOWING CLASS EXCEPTION ERROR. NO OTHER BROWSERS WERE WORKING. GOVT. STRIVED TO DO EVERY THING ONLINE , BUT FAILED TO DIVERSIFY SITES AND REDUCE THE LOAD. SO IN PUBLIC INTEREST , DATE SHOULD BE EXTENDED.
We are unable to file return despite of varipus attempt.date must extended.
Yes, the date should be extended as from 2 days the rush on the sight is very heavy, and we are unable to get access to the site. we are unable to work or upload returns.
Yes.Because Past two days the website has not been working properly.Better if CBDT extend the Due date.
Yes should extend
yes for sure , as the site is not only slowdown but from yesterday it is not working.
Yes. The date be extended till the site opens comfortably at one stroke. The Income Tax site did not open in spite of many efforts. May be due to reasons not known to the filers.
They should extend the date. Why haven’t they upgraded the system.Even Telephone 180042500025 is not getting thru.Always it says lines are blocked. The Pdf File is not being generated as Excel file too.IT dept should wake up instead of acting as Bureaucrats and Boss only attitude. They bare not helping anyone
Yes, the Department should extend e-filing of returns for one month i.e. up to 31st August, 2013 in view of many new assessees who are mandatorily required to file e-returns. Even in view of lack of clarity for salaried employees to file return in ITR-1 or ITR-2, some more time should be given. Further, the Department should clarify what they mean by exempt income of more than Rs.5,000/-. Whether it includes allowances exempt u/s Sec.10 r.w. Rule 2BB also or exempt income means income exempt required for reporting purpose only.
The date must not be extended, because that would make fools of those who took care to file on time. Last-minute rush at the filing website is fairly well-known and must not have come as a surprise to anyone. The areas affected by severe natural disaster have already been given extension of filing date. That must be that.

I think yes, definitely, CBDT must extend the date. Since e-filing schema for most of the returns were made available only by mid June. So effectively it has left only one and half month’s time with the taxpayers to file the returns. Why doesn’t CBDT make available the schema for e-filing right on 1st of April every year, so every assessee and tax-practioners (CAs) have ample time for e-filing??
Also, ITR 6 is made available only by yesterday. So does it not effectively leave only 2 months for filing company returns? In view of this, I strongly feel the date must be extended.
No I think that Due date should not be extended , main reason taxpayer ITR filling process start between 15th – 20th July ( at last moment ) If all taxpayer start ITR filing process in May / June. I hope that server will not be busy in July I filed my return on 19-05-2013 & now I tense free.
The return is to be filed for the period 01-04-2012 to 31-03-2013. So the assessee has 4 months of time for preparing the returns and ITR forms are available since last week of May 2013. Still the assessee wants more time means the Government will lose revenue by foregoing the interest u/s.234A. Instead of extending the due date, the income tax law enables the assessees to file even after the due date with interest u/s.234A.
Yes extent ion must because the server is not responding to complete the process.
Probably they had not anticipated such instance.E-filing website had become so slow, login happened after 25 minutes.
Yes it is necessary to extend the date. As the CBDT has came forward on the last second week of the july giving clarification that the income earners less than 5 lakhs also have to file their returns.
Yes
Yes, it is very true & also of the fact that due to heavy rains in all parts of India, their is irregular electricity supply & also slow down in net facility, its my & on part of the Indian Nation people hereby request to extend the due date of filing the returns by atleast one month.
Thanks & Regards
