Public Notice No. 61 (RE-2001)/1997-2002, dated January 8, 2002, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, announces an extension for the export of specific coarse grains and maize. This includes barley, maize, bajra, ragi, and jowar (excluding hybrid jowar grown as a kharif crop). Previously allowed for export under various notices, including Public Notices No. 48 (RE-2000), No. 61 (RE-2000), and No. 64 (RE-2000), the shipment deadline was originally set for December 31, 2001. However, the Director General of Foreign Trade, under the Export & Import Policy 1997-2002, has extended the last date for export until March 31, 2002. This extension is granted to facilitate the completion of export processes for the specified goods.

PUBLIC NOTICE NO.  61 ( RE-2001 ) / 1997-2002

NEW DELHI , THE,  8th January,2002.

Attention is invited to the entry at Code No. 1001(b)  in  Table B of Schedule 2     and Sr. No. 12(ii)  of Appendix –1 to Schedule 2 in the  book titled  “ ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import  Items, 1997-2002 ” (incorporating amendments made upto 31st August, 1998) and  as amended from time to time  specifying the terms and conditions for export of items indicated therein.

2. A specified quantity of Coarse grain ( grain and flour of Barley, Maize, Bajra, Ragi and Jowar excluding Hybrid Jowar grown as kharif crop ),  and  Maize was allowed for export by Director General of Foreign Trade under Public Notices  No. 48( RE-2000)/1997-2002 dated 15.12.2000 , Public Notice No. 61( RE-2000)/1997-2002 dated 13.3.2001 and  Public Notice No. 64( RE-2000)/1997-2002 dated 16.3.2001. The last date of  shipment of export of above items was extended upto 31.12.2001 vide Public Notice No. 49( RE-2001 )/1997-2002 dated 13.11.2001.

3. Further, in exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export & Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31st March, 2001) and as amended from time to time, the last date of shipment/export of the quantities of  coarse grain/maize  allowed for export vide the above Public Notices  is extended  upto  31.3.2002.
