In alignment with the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2023, the Ministry of Finance has announced the schedule for the Customs Brokers Licensing Examination, 2024. This crucial examination, playing a pivotal role in regulating customs brokerage, is set to take place on March 19, 2024. The Ministry invites interested candidates to participate, with detailed information available in the advertisement released on August 23, 2023, in national newspapers regarding the online written examination.

Examination Details:

Written Examination:

  • Format: Computer-Based Examination with Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Language Options: Questions will be presented in both English and Hindi, and candidates have the flexibility to answer in their preferred language.
  • Number of Questions: 150
  • Time Duration: Two and a half hours (10:30 hrs to 13:00 hrs)
  • Marking Scheme: +3 for each correct answer, -1 for each incorrect answer.
  • Maximum Marks: 450
  • Qualifying Marks: 270 (60%)

Oral Examination:

  • Those qualifying in the written examination will proceed to the oral examination, as per Regulation 6 of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018, as amended.
  • Pass Percentage for Oral Examination: 60%

Important Information for Aspiring Candidates:

  1. Qualifying Marks: To successfully pass the written examination, candidates must achieve a minimum of 270 marks, constituting 60% of the total marks.
  2. Oral Examination: Successful candidates in the written test will progress to the oral examination stage.
