Budget 2021- Seeks to further amend notification No. 08/2020-Customs dated 2nd February, 2020 so as to exempt the medical devices imported by international organizations and diplomatic missions, from the levy of Health Cess – Notification No. 6/2021-Customs Dated 1st February, 2021.

G.S.R.64(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with section 141 of the Finance Act, 2020 (12 of 2020), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue)notification No. 08/2020-Customs dated 2nd February, 2020, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 68 (E), dated the 2nd February, 2020, namely:-
1. In the said notification, in the TABLE, against Sl.No.2, in column (2), after item (vi), the following items shall be inserted, namely: –
“ (vii) Notification No. 84/97-Customs, dated the 11th November, 1997, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 645(E), dated the 11th November, 1997;
(viii) Notification No. 3/57-Customs, dated the 8th January, 1957, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 98 (E), dated the 08th January, 1957”.
2. This notification shall come into force on 2nd February, 2021.
