Seeks to amend notification No. 8/2020-Customs dated 02.02.2020 to make changes consequential to enactment of Finance Act, 2020.

NOTIFICATION No. 19/2020–Customs

New Delhi, the 9th April, 2020

G.S.R. 246(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with section 141 of the Finance Act, 2020 (12 of 2020), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendments in the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 08/2020-Customs, dated the 2nd February, 2020, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. 68(E), dated the 2nd February, 2020, namely:-

In the said notification, –

(i) for the words, figures and brackets “clause 139 of the Finance Bill, 2020, which, by virtue of the declaration made in the said Finance Bill under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 (16 of 1931), has the force of law”, the words, figures and brackets, “section 141 of Finance Act, 2020 (12 of 2020)” shall be substituted;

(ii) for the words “under the said clause of the Finance Bill”, the words “under the said section of the said Finance Act” shall be substituted.
